Why the Accula Rapid PCR Test?

The most effective way to find out if you are infected is by getting tested. There are different types of tests for Covid-19, with PCR tests being the gold standard. However, if you go to a lab with a backlog of tests or increased demand, it can take 3 or more days for your results.

With the Accula Rapid PCR Test, your results are available within 30 minutes. The Accula Rapid PCR test is an onsite test that can be processed by a portable device. It's like the standard PCR test, but without having to send it to a laboratory for processing. The rapid PCR test is administered as a nasal swab, making it easy to take on-site.

Although a rapid antigen test is very accurate and will return results within 15 minutes, it is still considered less accurate than the RT-PCR test. Depending on circumstances, clinicians may recommend a follow up standard or rapid PCR test to verify the results of a rapid antigen test.

The Accula Rapid PCR test and the rapid antigen test both provide results quickly, but the two tests are not the same and work differently. With just a nasal swab sample, the tests are designed to detect the genetic material of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. The rapid antigen test is designed to detect proteins located on the surface of the virus instead of RNA, like the rapid PCR test. The RT-PCR tests are highly accurate with only a small number of false positives and false negatives.

“We have many large and small employers looking for this type of test,” said Rick Wilburn. “We’re here to support those business and get those businesses back up and running as soon as possible.”
